Not too much is known about this fine officer, although Barry Baricza was the only CHP officer seen drawing his weapon during the entire run of the show.
For a short time, Barry quit the CHP to work as a crop duster for his father. He's a pilot and flight instructor. His father (who is also a crop duster) taught him how to fly. ("The Hawk and the Hunter")
Officer Baricza pulled his gun to protect himself in the episodes "Rainy Day", "Peaks and Valleys", and "Karate" . These are the only three times any officer draws his weapon in the entire series.
Baricza and Fritz won the 1976 CHP bowling tournament.
His nickname is "Bear".
He also played on the CHP basketball team.
He was injured in a hit and run which killed another officer.
As of 1999, Baricza is still with the CHP.
