In comparison to most large cities, it has one of the lowest ratios of police personnel to population served; the current chief, William J. On some occasions, they portray ridiculous roles as in the tenth episode of season 1 where an officer of the LAPD arrests Sindy assuming she was a thief [1] and in the first episode of season 6 when two LAPD officers arrest Ponch assuming he was impersonating an officer wearing only shorts, socks and his helmet [2].
