Formed in 1869, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is the police department of the City of Los Angeles, California. The agency is famous world wide and has been heavily fictionalized in numerous movies and television shows.
In "CHiPs", LAPD officers cooperate with the CHP in pursuing bad guys. On some occasions, they portray ridiculous roles as in the tenth episode of season 1 where an officer of the LAPD arrests Sindy assuming she was a thief [1] and in the first episode of season 6 when two LAPD officers arrest Ponch assuming he was impersonating an officer wearing only shorts, socks, and his helmet [2].
Fun Facts
- In the final episode of the 5th season, Bobby (before joining the CHP) can be seen as a LAPD officer [3].
