The "Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department" (LASD or LASO) serves the County of Los Angeles, California and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Founded in 1850. In CHiPs LASO deputies sometimes assist chippies pursuing bad guys and rescuing car accident victims [1]. Deputies can also be seen in K-9 units [2], county jail and court services.
Rick Rosner, creator of CHiPs, created another TV show similar to CHiPs: "240-Robert". This show follows the adventures of LASD Emergency Service Detail deputies.
