Robert Pine (Joseph Getraer) was born as Granville Whitelaw Pine on July 10, 1941 in Scarsdale, NY. He married Gwynne Gilford in 1969 and has two children, Katherine and Chris.
Robert has an intense dislike for motorcycles, so much that during the first season of "CHiPs", Pine threatened to quit if his part was not changed to that of a cruiser cop. Rick Rosner compromised and Pine's scenes were thereafter mostly relegated to at his desk or around the CHP station.
