The Tail o' the Cock was a well known restaurant which was the hangout for Republic Studios stars like Clark Gable, Bette Davis, and Monte Hall through the 1940's and 1950's. It was located at 12950 Ventura Blvd until the 1980's when it was torn down, along with the neighboring Tail o' the Pup hot dog stand, with fierce neighborhood opposition in order to make way for the Bistro Garden strip mall.
The Margarita was invented by Tail o' the Cock bartender, Mr. Johnny Durlesser.
