Traffic Break

A Traffic Break is a manœuvre operated by CHP to interrupt the flow of traffic in case of an accident, an obstacle or a felony stop ahead of the congested traffic. Usually the officers enter the highway some miles downstream of the accident and start swinging left and right on all the lanes of traffic so to keep drivers behind them at slow speed or even stop the flow.
