Established in 1920, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) serves unincorporated areas of Los Angeles, California as well as cities and towns who choose the county provide fire and EMS services. The agency became famous thanks to the '70s TV show EMERGENCY! which portrays the job of one of the first paramedics unit: squad 51.
In "CHiPs", LACoFD paramedics and firemen can often be seen on accident scenes and in some episodes it's actually squad 51 [1] [2].
