Bruce Penhall (Bruce Nelson) was born on August 17, 1960 in Balboa, CA. His family was quite wealthy. He is 5'8" tall.
Before joining the cast of "CHiPs" he became the World Motorcycle Speedway champion from 1981 to 1982. In more recent years, he has been seen racing offshore powerboats and selling sunglasses.
Penhall reportedly was paid $4,000 per episode. He did an interview in May, 1983 saying he expected to return to "CHiPs" in a 7th season. It was not to be. The show got cancelled.
