Smash-Up on Interstate 5 is a 1976 TV movie which anticipates the adventures of "CHiPs" just by one year.
The movie starts with the voice of CHP Sgt. Sam Marcum (86 S1) from the Capistrano Area Office (Border Division) narrating of a big smash-up on I-5. The plot follows the life of many of the people involved in the same accident prior to it, but it also focuses on the life of CHP officers of the Capistrano Area Office. Officers drive '76 Dodge Coronets just like in "CHiPs", but there are no motor officers in this movie.
