In CHiPs all characters had accurate look alike CHP uniforms to the very least detail, the only difference from those worn by real cops was that CHiPs uniforms were maybe tighter to give a sexy look.
Some screen worn uniforms are still around on auction websites, some others are kept in private collections.
Here we have some pictures of a Poncherello's screen worn complete uniform. This uniform has been told to be n.2 of 7 uniforms he used while filming the show (maybe he had more than just 7 over the whole 6 seasons), this rare collector piece is made of uniform, boots, name tag, marksman shooting pin, underbelt and duty belt with accessories like the unique microphone pouch. Everyone could guess that CHiPs actors had many different uniforms throughout the series looking at small details such as name tag letters character, shoulder patch colors or duty belt accessories.
