In CHiPs all characters had accurate look alike CHP uniforms at the very least detail. The only difference from those worn by real cops was that CHiPs uniforms were tighter to give a more sexy look.

Even the 7 points star badge was like the real CHP one made by Entenmann and Rovin. Ponch's badge has been sold for more than 2.5k dollars in 2017.

Some screen worn uniforms are still around on auction websites, some others are kept in private collections.
